Katie

Ms. Suter has been teaching Multilingual Learners for over twenty years, both as a teacher of self-contained ML classes, and as a co-teacher in the math, science, and social studies departments. She is certified by the NJ Department of Education as a trainer of Sheltered English Instruction, conducting 15-hour training suites to NJ teachers using the FABRIC model. She currently serves as the ML Coordinator and Instructional Coach at Tenafly Middle School and has previously served as the K-12 Lead Teacher of her department. In 2024, she was proud to be awarded the Barbara Tedesco Collaboration Award from NJ TESOL/NJBE, which recognizes excellence in co-teaching multilingual learners within the mainstream classroom. Ms. Suter holds a B.A. with Distinction from the University of Virginia, and an MA in TESOL from New Jersey City University. Outside of the classroom, she is a certified pilates instructor.
