Dr. Jeannie

Dr. Jeannie Ryan is a passionate educator dedicated to transforming the classroom experience through dynamic, research-based instruction. With a career spanning every level of high school English, Jeannie has served as a staff developer, instructional coach, and mentor, helping both new and veteran teachers refine their craft and rediscover their joy for teaching.She has presented at state and national level conferences.
Jeannie is known for her high-energy workshops and her ability to create a warm, welcoming environment for all participants. She believes that professional development should be as engaging and inclusive as the classrooms we strive to build.
Jeannie offers specialized workshops and consulting in a variety of critical instructional areas, including: Student Engagement: Cooperative learning, Socratic Seminars, and implementing student-led book clubs; Literacy Innovation: Revamping independent reading and effectively using mentor texts; Instructional Strategy: Differentiated instruction and teaching effectively in extended blocks of time; Teacher Support: Comprehensive new teacher orientation and ongoing mentorship; Results-Oriented Design: Preparing for state testing and modernizing curriculum.
Jeannie’s approach is rooted in a deep academic foundation and a lifelong commitment to learning: She received her BA in English from Boston College, her MA in English from NYU and her Doctorate in Instructional Leadership from St. John’s University.
