Positively Mindful Social Emotional Learning for Students actively introduces and explores developmentally appropriate social emotional competencies, mindfulness practices, positive psychology principles and concepts, and self-care strategies to enhance student well-being and support their academic learning and growth.

Mindfulness is the ability to pay attention, on purpose, non-judgmentally, in the present moment. It is a powerful tool that supports children in calming themselves, focusing their attention, and interacting effectively with others; all critical skills for functioning well in school and in life.

In this active and engaging workshop, students will learn the benefits of mindfulness, positive psychology, and social emotional learning. Students will gain an overview of the history of mindfulness, the neuroscience behind it, cognitive benefits, social emotional skills, and well-being. In addition, students will learn the fundamental role that social-emotional well-being and positive psychology concepts and practices play in the development of important social emotional skills and their learning, development, and growth in school.
